On the 10th, the 17th China (Changchun) International Auto Expo, Changchun International Auto Culture Festival and the 2nd Hong Qi Carnival kicked off at Changchun International Convention and Exhibition Center. Party Secretary Wang Kai attended the opening ceremony and started the carnival together with the leaders of FAW Group. Mayor Zhang Zhijun visited the exhibition halls of the Auto Expo.
Changchun International Auto Expo is an international A-class auto show with world influence. After 21 years of development and accumulation, it has become an all-round strategic platform for Chinese and foreign large motor companies to show their image, shape their brands, exchange information and seek cooperation. This year, with the support of the CPC Central Committee, the State Council and the provincial government, the city actively responded to the impact of the epidemic, boldly innovated the hosting mode, took the lead in the five major auto shows in the country, and implemented the new mode of "offline+online" and "main venue+sub-venue", extending the policy of supporting auto sales in the first half of the year to auto expo and even longer. With the implementation of government-enterprise cooperation with FAW, the Auto Expo will become an effective carrier and platform for promoting automobile consumption, boosting industrial development, stimulating economic growth and enhancing the well-being of citizens.
In her speech at the opening ceremony, Vice Mayor Jia Lina, on behalf of the municipal Party committee and government, welcomed the guests from all walks of life and expressed her gratitude to the friends who have long supported the development of Changchun's automobile industry and exhibition economy. She said that Changchun, as the cradle of new China's automobile industry, bears the glory of the development of the automobile industry. After more than 60 years of development, automobiles have been deeply integrated into the veins of the city. The "Automobile City" has become Changchun's most beautiful business card. In the first half of the year, under the strong leadership of the municipal Party committee and government, we coordinated the epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development, and the automobile industry achieved a reverse growth. The FAW Group united and led the staff to create a new record in automobile production and sales. Hong Qi is even more vigorous, with sales volume increasing by 111% year-on-year, further strengthening the confidence to win the revitalization of the auto industry. Next, Changchun will fully implement the arrangements made by the CPC Central Committee, the State Council, the provincial Party Committee and the provincial government, make every effort to build a modern international automobile city, speed up the construction of Changchun's modern metropolitan area, and work together to write a new chapter in the overall revitalization of Changchun.
Qin Huanming, Deputy Party Secretary of FAW Group, said in his speech that the second Hong Qi Carnival will be upgraded from the first one in 2019. Through 15 thematic activities, it will bring a grand meeting of autobots and a grand feast of automobile culture to the people of Changchun. During the Carnival, China FAW will bring its own brands and joint-venture brands, such as Hong Qi, to showcase new products, new technologies and new concepts to the outside world in the form of family contracting of exhibition hall. Among them, the first luxury class C+ flagship car H9 of Hong Qi also officially started pre-sale during the Carnival. In addition, Hong Qi Design Challenge, Hong Qi Classic Car Parade and Car Marathon, Hong Qi "Fans" Ceremony, Open Day for Citizens and other activities will fully demonstrate the profound historical accumulation, unique cultural charm and extreme driving experience of Hong Qi Brand.
